Sustainability highlights
Acting responsibly towards the environment and our work community and other stakeholders is an integral part of our business principles. We work continuously to further these themes.
Our investment in sustainability work is reflected in our sustainability assessment scores, safety metrics and personnel survey results, for example.
Safety metrics reflect investments in occupational safety
Excellent results achieved in the EcoVadis sustainability assessment
In 2024, we reached the Silver level of the global EcoVadis sustainability assessment. Our results were better than 89 per cent of the companies reviewed.
The themes of the EcoVadis sustainability assessment are Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
Positive carbon handprint
The carbon handprint of Sarlin has been verified to be positive, meaning our services produce beneficial environmental impacts.
Our carbon footprint and handprint were calculated in a Master’s thesis published in 2023 at Aalto University.
The calculations, based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, showed that Sarlin has carried out positive actions to reduce its operational carbon footprint and to increase its carbon handprint.
The key technologies we offer can reduce greenhouses gases significantly compared to other commonly used solutions.
Towards the best workplace in the industry
Sarlin has the ambitious aim of being its industry’s best place to work.
In our 2023 personnel survey, the PeoplePower index of Sarlin reached the A+ level. In addition, our employee net promoter score (ENPS) rose to 23.
Sustainable future and humane work
We want to be at the vanguard of the green transition with our highly skilled partners. For example, we are taking part in the construction of Finland’s first industrial scale green hydrogen and synthetic methane production plant in the town of Harjavalta, located in the region of Satakunta.
We have expanded our range of products and services to robotics. First and foremost, robotics make work more humane. It is often better to let powerful and precise robots handle tasks that are physically demanding, repetitive and hectic.
Excellent HSEQ review results
In our 2022 HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) review, we scored very well: a total of 565 points. The minimum for an Excellent grade is 450 points, and the average score of all reviewed companies was 381 at the time.
HSEQ reviews are conducted to verify that suppliers are operating in line with the principles they agreed to with their client.
