For LNG plants, we handle the overall design and implementation and can also provide automation design. We take responsibility for official inspections and the required documentation, including explosion protection documents, operating instructions and maintenance instructions.
Our plants are safe, CE-marked and tested prior to delivery to the worksite. Our complete LNG service package also includes remote monitoring and maintenance from preventive maintenance to operating services. Our maintenance network covers all of Finland.
LNG is energy for the whole community
Why is Sarlin so invested in LNG technology? The answer is clear: LNG is a versatile energy solution that benefits the whole industrial estate and its neighbourhood. Conventionally, each operator in an industrial estate maintains a dedicated oil tank, but LNG tanks can be shared by multiple users. Once more sustainable infrastructure is developed, the tank’s energy can even be exploited by local networks, for example. There is no reason why the same energy cannot be used by vehicles in the area from heavy goods vehicles to passenger cars.
The wider adoption of LNG is represented by a joint project between Kainuun Voima and Rohe Solutions due to be completed this year: the companies are building a client terminal with an evaporation plant and facilities for refuelling gas-powered cars and heavy goods vehicles.
LNG is one of our most environmentally friendly energy sources. Compared to burning fuel oil, LNG’s CO2 emissions are lower by more than 20 per cent. The gas burns cleanly and free of sulphur with low nitrogen oxide emissions. Even better, biomethane (available as CBG or LBG) is a carbon-neutral fuel. It should be noted that liquefied gases take up less volume than the gaseous form: LNG and LBG can be compressed 600 times compared to gaseous methane. LNG and LBG can significantly reduce the emissions of heavy transport. As above, the gas burns cleanly without emitting soot or other hazardous particulates.
And that is the reason why we choose LNG.
