Timely maintenance ensures customer production continues undisturbed

Our life cycle services help our customers maintain their compressed air, gas and energy equipment anywhere in Finland.

Our life cycle services product line has a fresh director, M.Sc. (Machine Automation) Tanja Valtonen, who is well-experienced in industrial maintenance, its management and customer relationships in multiple companies.

“As a partner, we wish to support our customers throughout the life cycle of their equipment from start to finish. The service content is always tailored to the customer’s situation.” Life cycle services are a vital part of the delivery and coverage of complete solutions.

“Sarlin provides a full service. When we design plants and equipment, we consider the life cycle from start to finish. We offer different maintenance contracts for different customer needs.”

Currently, Sarlin life cycle services employ some 40 professionals in 12 locations in Finland. The network reaches from Kemi in the north to Vantaa in the south.

“Our life cycle services team is made up of true experts ready to take on challenges and further improve our services.”

Remote monitoring and preventive maintenance protect against equipment faults

Nearly every factory uses pneumatic equipment. Sarlin life cycle services provide repairs, maintenance and round-the-clock monitoring for all compressed air devices regardless of brand. “Our Sarlin Balance system gives us a view into the customer’s compressed air system. We can use Balance to monitor, control and tune the customer’s system remotely.”

Some things can’t be done remotely, of course. Faults and breakdowns are repaired on site as quickly as possible, for example.“Customers have the option to define response times in their contracts for us to follow.”

Equipment breakdowns and the resulting extra costs can be prevented with well-timed preventive maintenance.

"Preventive maintenance is very important for equipment life cycle management, and it allows us to ensure the reliability of equipment and the continuity of production,” says Viljakainen.

One important aspect of life cycle services is proposing improvements to the customer. “We propose improvements to our customers and prepare instructions for effective equipment operation and achieving energy savings.”

The green transition and hydrogen processing increase the need for life cycle services

In gas energy technology, Sarlin’s maintenance experts look after and repair filling stations, engine power stations, pumping stations and microturbine plants. Our services also include gas detector maintenance and calibration.

Customer facilities may include critical functions that must be monitored continuously. Sarlin’s on-call service monitors plant functions round the clock and responds immediately to any unexpected events. Viljakainen firmly believes that Sarlin’s life cycle services will see accelerating growth for both old and new equipment and facilities.

“The green transition and hydrogen processing have created new opportunities for Sarlin. Skilled, reliable maintenance and service partners are in demand in these areas. As technology develops and the transition progresses, more and more businesses will need help with the maintenance of their equipment. We want to be that maintenance partner and continue our development and innovations to serve customer needs.”

Impressed by the level of professional skill at Sarlin

Viljakainen has only worked as Sarlin’s product line director for a few months but has been thoroughly impressed and even surprised by the personnel’s comprehensive skills, knowledge, and commitment to their work. “I received a very warm welcome, and I feel at home at Sarlin.”

In her work as a product line director, Viljakainen appreciates the variety and challenges.

“Customer challenges fire me up, and no two days are the same in my work. I’m always learning new things in our customers’ factories. I also have the opportunity to update and develop our operating methods.”
