The robot collision guard is a component designed to protect workpieces, the robot's valuable tool, and the robot and its environment during collisions. The collision guard is adjusted to trigger at a desired load, and when this load is exceeded, it flexes in the direction of motion and simultaneously sends a signal to the robot control to stop the movement. After stopping, the operator checks the cause of the collision, any possible damage, and resets the collision guard.
